Lindy von Harringa - Treasurer & Director of Children's Ministry

Lindy discovered her calling to ministry in 1974 while serving with a parachurch organization focused on campus outreach. Though only 19 years old, she eagerly dove into editing publications and coordinating conferences, compelled by the mission. It was here she met her husband Ernst, who she married in 1978.

In 2003, Ernst and Lindy felt called to establish Bible Ministries International to specifically advance Biblical literacy. As BMI's Director of Children’s Ministry, Lindy develops fun and creative curricula sparking young hearts' engagement with Scripture. Her background in education, including a Master’s degree and doctoral studies, equips her to guide programming helping students connect biblical truths to modern life.

As Treasurer, Lindy handles all fiscal duties with integrity, freeing up resources for Gospel outreach. Her business savvy and willingness to manage operations behind the scenes have empowered BMI to flourish. While Lindy loves public ministry, she considers administrative roles equally vital to clearing obstacles so God's Word can spread.

With over 4 decades of experience in the nonprofit sector, Lindy is committed to utilizing her diverse skills for God's purposes. She feels privileged to leverage her talents to advance Bible Ministries International's vision in educating youth and cultures worldwide on the richness of Biblical understanding.

Ernst Gunther von Harringa - President

Ernst's lifelong global perspective shaped his passion for cross-cultural ministry. Born in Los Angeles but raised overseas in his formative years, his worldview was molded by exposure to diverse cultures and faiths across India, Europe, and the Far East.

Ernst pursued undergraduate studies and international affairs upon returning stateside, when a campus Christian outreach group opened his eyes to the teachings of the Bible. Shortly thereafter, while growing devoted to Scripture that had long seemed foreign to him, Ernst felt called to full-time ministry. This set the stage for a blossoming vocational journey.

Alongside his future wife and copartner Lindy, Ernst continued to serve with various parachurch organizations over several years. But in 2003, the couple was led to establish Bible Ministries International – a nonprofit singularly focused on biblical literacy without denominational constraints.

As BMI’s President, Ernst leads an online educational platform distributing accessible biblical training across the globe. His lifelong mission remains simply advancing the teachings of Scripture. Leveraging his personal background, he revels in unlocking biblical truth for secular and nominally religious audiences alike.

Ernst feels privileged to steward BMI’s worldwide ministry advancing the gospel. He counts it a blessing to keep learning and growing in his own biblical understanding while equipping international seekers on their spiritual journeys.
